The rumours prove to be true, when they encounter an undead knight, who tries to convince them to swear fealty to his lord. All seems fine, but after a time rumours of the undead start circulating, and the player is sent in to investigate. Thell leaves and the khan promises to side with whatever kingdom the player serves. After her ghoul guards are defeated, Ecatha surrenders the talisman, and the player brings it to Thell, and Uruzuge is healed. Thell tells the player of a magic talisman that he needs for the cure, which is held by a witch named Ecatha, so the player goes to retrieve it. For this, the khan tasks the player to help Thell find a cure for Uruzuge (his daughter, and only remaining child). After the Serrepa affair, the player gets a quest to convince the Khergits to join their kingdom against the other in the war. They brought him to their khan, whose children were dying of a mysterious illness. He was later found by Khergit scouts, and introduced himself as a healer. Akhad Thell, who was advisor to the rebels' leader, pretended to be dead and evaded the punishers. The Vaegir nobles send in punishing parties, the rebellion's leader is imprisoned, the villagers are slaughtered, and the village itself is looted and razed. The negotiations, while initially successful, are forfeited by the nobles, who decide that rebellious serfs are not worth negotiating with. The player is given a quest to travel to the village and negotiate with the rebels (if the player is Swadian, they're tasked with convincing the villagers to swear allegiance to Swadia in exchange for protection and autonomy if Vaegir, the player has to convince the villagers to stop rebelling). The whole undead quesline starts with the Vaegir village of Serrepa (the only village on the map) declaring a republican revolution following an incident involving a rather trigger(sword?)-happy knight, and the villagers being out for noble blood. The player character can join one of the two kingdoms (Swadians or Vaegirs). The plot revolved around the undead, though somewhat indirectly. As the others have already mentioned, the undead were featured in the early versions of Mount and Blade, in particular in Warrider (earliest known MnB version, 0.202). ![]()
